The founders of LibertyatStake.com realized when we set up this site that many citizens of the U.S. have had very little instruction in what makes a free society work. And work so well that it provided the highest standard of living for the vast majority of its citizens in a mere 200 years after its birth. That standard of living made us a nation of immigrants, which says everything about its attraction. Humans, if they can, vote with their feet.
We also believe that our Liberty, our right to choose what is best for us without hurting others, is being seriously, if not lethally, eroded. And that therefore, this information, needs to be quickly disseminated.
This section of LibertyatStake.com is a primer on what living in a free society, a free market, requires. It also includes topics about how a free market would work in some major areas of human life: such as education, health care, and business and job creation.
And there are articles on where we may have missed Liberty's call and created internal conflicts that contributed to our deterioration.
At launch time for LibertyatStake.com, all of the "Lessons" are not yet available. They will be added as our writers' time allows. In another section, there are articles from other sources that relate to these issues. We think that they add to the conversation. And that is what we hope this will be a conversation. If you have thoughts that you'd like to contribute to these ideas, please use the discussion board or post comments on the LibertyatStake.com blog.
The following Lessons in Liberty will be available soon... Stay tuned!

Money, Greed and God featuring Jay Richards
(The Cato Institute) The fall of communism conclusively demonstrated that capitalism is the better economic system. Free markets are unsurpassed in their ability to provide material bounty, but in the aftermath of the economic crisis some ask, are they moral? Jay Richards takes on the critics of capitalism. He argues that markets, though imperfect, are a natural outgrowth of God's creation and an important tool for helping the poor and disadvantaged. Click here to listen now.
